FIRST NEW SETTLEMENT IN THE COLONIA NEBULA OPENED

In an historic moment for the fledgling colony surrounding Jaques Station, construction on the first planetary settlement in the Colonia Nebula was completed yesterday.

Colonia Hub is the headquarters of the newly-formed Colonia Council, a cooperative of colonists made up of the first settlers to the region.

Their spokesperson had this to say at the opening:

“It’s truly momentous when you consider the distance involved between here and the nearest other planetary settlement. I cannot commend the incredible bravery of those who have chosen to live and work out here highly enough. We’re building everything from scratch. Colonia Hub will be a beacon, showing what can be achieved by those who have committed their all the vision of a new society.”

As yet, facilities at the new port are limited – but that has not diminished the palpable sense of excitement in the Colony this weekend.

Commanders Mosta of the CCN Events team and Qwertyuiopas of the Twin Candles were amongst the first Colonists to enter the starport. Qwertyuiopas reported that, pleasant though the facility was, it would benefit from better signposting.

After this incident the Gazette understands that Commander Qwertyuiopas required airlifting to safety.

Commander Ragnar Starquester was amongst the first patrons of the new port’s nightlife, reporting that—though understandably not as luxurious as some of the nightclubs to be found in the more salubrious boroughs of Jaques Station—a “good time” was still on offer.

Commander Starquester is understood to have been late to Militia patrol duty today.

These are exciting days indeed for the Colony.
