Time For Reflection?
Militia fighters were seen in Eol Prou LW-L C8-138 this week where The Fire Twins took on a superior force in Colonia Refinery Operations (CRO). This was really bad news for CRO as they suffered a secondary effect in another system, although they were grateful for all the support they could get. Ultimately, it made no difference: the two forces fought themselves to a standstill with CRO having lost the most and neither winning anything.
It was a similar story in Eol Prou LW-L C8-28 where The Baddest Company took on Colonia Research Division – and lost heavily.
It was Eol Prou LW-L C8-133 that saw scenes of frustration and anger at the presumption of the No Look Here Gang, which made remarkable gains this week. This is a system with just two other factions: Colonia Refinery Operations (CRO) and Colonia Research Division (CRDiv). As we saw, CRO was tied up in Eol Prou LW-L C8-138 and was unable to defend itself and CRDiv was unable to fend off an attack on its authority in Eol Prou VY-R D4-443. The result of this was No Look Here Gang walking tall and The Tang Gang preparing for expansion.
All these conflicts involved a criminal gang challenging a Colonia cooperative. Support for the forces of good was sadly lacking. The reason, of course, was that the vast majority of the Militia’s resources was being employed elsewhere. In ancient times the advice was: “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
The Rubber Robot Bounces Back
Jaques’ problems only multiplied during the first part of the week. After a meteoric rise came an equally meteoric fall as he was tied up in a war that took all his resources leaving his defence in other systems in tatters. Things reached such a low point that he was threatened with eviction from Eol Prou LW-L C8-28. The close of the war brought financial recovery and the threat was lifted.
A Long and Drawn-out Affair
At the time of writing it’s the seventeenth day of war in Eol Prou YD-W B17-5, where the Golden Hand Coalition and Colonia Tech Combine have both signally failed to encourage enough support to make a push for victory. The lead between the two has switched to and fro with neither gaining enough. Neither of the two options for resolution are attractive: sit it out while hundreds risk their lives for nothing, or an embargo on the system while a Militia fleet takes the emphatic action. For the greatest threat to both sides is the other five factions, which are all doing rather well, thank you very much, soaking up the trade profits and gathering support that these two embattled groups badly need.
